Red Tea Detox Review

By Jennifer | Try a Diet

Product Description:

There is often a lot of debate in the medical and fitness community about whether we really need to detox. One camp believes that a good detox has many beneficial effects, while the other camp believes that the body is capable of detoxing on its own. That’s what the liver is for.

So, the question is – Who is right?

The answer is that both groups are right. The body is capable of detoxing on its own. That is indeed true. So is the fact that products such as detox tea and patches do help the body cleanse itself.

The fact of the matter is that our polluted environments, poor diet choices, water intake, etc. add toxins into our system. While the liver can get rid of the toxins, it doesn’t hurt to give it some help to speed things up.

Let’s not overwork our liver. The Red Tea Detox is one of the best detox tea recipes available. It’s a bestseller and has sold thousands of copies. The ingredients used in this tea are easy to obtain and contain a lot of antioxidant properties and fat burning benefits.

Created by Liz Swann Miller, the recipe is said to have come from Africa. Apparently, Liz got the recipe from a shaman there. Well, we were skeptical of this story, even though it’s interesting and does make for effective marketing.

All we were interested in is if the Red Tea Detox worked. Here’s what we found out:

The Good Points:

  1. The book is detailed, but it’s written in a clear and concise manner that is easy to understand. The instructions and invaluable tips are on point and the information is reliable. This is not untested theory.

        2. The Red Tea Detox has sold thousands of copies and is an online bestseller. It has been there for quite a while  and there are websites filled with positive testimonials from actual buyers. That’s enough social proof to reassure anyone that the product works.

       3.  If you follow the detox program, any inflammation in the body will subside. It’ll be much easier to lose weight. People have reported feeling ‘lighter’ and more energetic after the detox. It also improves your sleep quality.

      4. While the first part of the book covers the importance and merits of detoxing, the second part of the book will explain the 14-day detox and what you need to do. The plan is laid out well and all you need to do is follow it.

The third and final part of the book will give you a 21-day eating plan to follow. This will help you to burn more calories, shed the excess fat and maintain hormonal balance. The 21-day duration will also help you to form healthy eating habits and teach you how to make good food choices.

      5. The detox tea has several health benefits such as:

  • Prevents growth of fat cells
  • Stabilizes blood sugar levels
  • Helps to de-stress the body
  • Reduces bad cholesterol levels
  • Gets rid of intrinsic and extrinsic toxins
  • Has antioxidant properties
  • Reduces food cravings and appetite
  • Improves blood circulation

      6. You also get an exercise plan to help you lose more weight and get fit. Liz included a little motivational guide to keep you focused and on track. That can be helpful when you’re feeling down while trying to make positive changes.

      7. Worried that the Red Tea Detox is all hype? Cast your worries aside. The product is backed by a 100 percent money back guarantee. No questions asked.

The Bad Points:

  1. The book is only available online. Once you access it, you can print out a physical copy for easy reference.
  2. While the Red Tea Detox works, it’s not a miracle cure. After the detox, you’ll need to adopt a clean diet so that you do not add toxins back into your system. Consistency and disciplined eating is required.

Should You Get It?

If you’re looking to cleanse your body, lose weight and feel better, this book will help you achieve those.

There are many types of detox teas, detox patches, etc. that are commercially sold. You’ll not need to spend a cent on all these products if you have the Red Tea Detox recipe. This is a one-time investment that will reap rewards for many years to come.

Every 6 months or so, you could do a detox and get rid of the harmful toxins with this tea. This is a product worth getting.

Use it to improve your health. You’ll look and feel the difference once you use it. You really should give it a try.

8 Easy Exercises for Your Sore Back [Video]

By Jennifer | Staying Healthy

Before I turned 40, sore backs were something that happened to other people. But I found out soon enough it would happen to me. Whether you sit at a desk or drive a bunch, sore backs can become a real pain.

The good news is a few simple exercises can help relieve your pain. I’ve spelled out 8 below with descriptions. If you prefer video, check out this demonstration on this hip flexor stretch.

Reduce Back Pain with This Hip Flexor Stretch

You can check out more from Unlock Your Hip Flexors Here

Here are 8 other easy exercises you can do to relieve your sore back:

1-Half lunge

Start with both feet hip width apart. Step one foot forward, such as the right foot, until it is on the floor in front of you with the knee at a 90-degree angle. The other knee (left) can rest on the floor. Return to standing by either stepping back, or pushing with your left foot until it is once again level with your right foot. Repeat by stepping out with the left foot and bringing the right knee downwards

2-Cross-legged crunch

Lay on the floor with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor, and the small of your back comfortably supported on the floor. Cross one leg, such as the right one, over the left leg. Using both hands, grip the thigh of the leg underneath, in this case, the left leg, and gently draw both legs towards your chest. Hold for 5 seconds and release the leg so the foot is once more flat on the floor.

3-Hamstring stretch

Lay on the floor with one knee bent, foot flat on the floor, and the small of your back comfortably supported on the floor, the other leg stretched straight out flat on the floor. Bend one knee. Using both hands, grip the thigh of the raised leg. Support the leg as you try to straighten it. Picture yourself pushing up to the ceiling with your heel. Straighten as far as you can, hold for 5 seconds, then release the leg so it is bent again. Repeat 4 more times on that side and then do the same sequence of exercises with the opposite leg.

4-Thigh stretch

Standing next to a wall for balance, and leaning with your right side or holding on to the wall with your right hand, bend your left knee. Reach down your left hand to grip the upper part of your foot around the toe area. Bring the heel of the foot close to the back of the thigh. Try to keep the knees together, with the raised leg parallel to the standing leg, not spread apart widely.

5-Yoga pose: Plank

Plank is like the upward position of a push-up. Don’t let the back sag down or thrust upwards. Keep it as straight as a board.

6-Yoga pose: Dolphin Plank

Instead of resting your weight on your hands, rest it on your forearms and elbows. Again, don’t sag. This is great for a solid core.

7 and 8-Yoga poses: Cat and Cow

Start in cow, on your hands and knees, back straight. Arch your head and neck back–pretend to moo. Now move to cat, and think of a hissing cat arching its back angrily. Bring the head down and arch the back. Move slowly back to cow, then to cat, and so on, about 10 times, keeping the movement smooth and steady.

Not All Carbs Are Bad: 4 Other Things That Are Sabotaging Your Weight Loss

By Jennifer | Try a Diet

CARRRRRBS! Run! Aahhhhh!

Lately it seems like everybody hates carbs. The current diet trends like the ketogenic diet really focus on an almost no carb existence.

While eating bacon 24/7 has a certain appeal to it, if you cut out carbs completely you will probably start to realize you miss those guys too.

With all the Keto hype, I thought it would be good to step back and look at some other diet options if you’re looking to lose fat and gain muscle.

One of these is The Renegade Diet. It is a program designed to help men gain muscle, lose fat and get ripped.
Like most diet plans, the trick is in the follow through. It makes some great points about your current lifestyle that could be holding you back. I’m going to run through some of them:

You’re Eating Too Many Calories

This should be pretty obvious to most people, but there are still those who are claiming that you can eat all you want as long as you avoid carbs. That’s just not true. At the end of the day you need to eat less. It’s really simple. If you’re eating 10-12 calories for every pound of bodyweight it would be hard NOT to lose fat. Most people stuff their faces every 2-3 hours to “crank their metabolism” or “stoke the metabolic fire,” and end up eating way more calories than they need.

You’re Not Eating Enough Calories

This is the opposite side of the coin, obviously. Some people diet too hard and in turn basically shut off their metabolism. When you cut calories too low your thyroid will shut down and losing fat will become very difficult. One easy way to monitor this is by taking your temperature when you wake up. If it starts dipping way below normal you’ll know you’ve royally messed up your metabolism.

At that point the best thing you can do is crank your calories through the roof for a few days, or even weeks until you get back to normal. Nothing else will help.

You’re Drinking Too Many Protein Shakes

When you want to get ripped it’s always better to chew as many of your calories as possible. The very act of chewing and digesting solid food burns more calories than drinking shakes does. Most physique competitors cut out shakes when getting ready for a show. Take note and learn the lesson. One small one after a workout is okay but I wouldn’t be slugging down three a day.

You’re Not Following A Diet Plan

Like I said, the trick is in the follow through. If you’re not working a plan, you will not succeed. If you’re looking for a good system to follow, The Renegade Diet is good because its not too complicated or difficult to follow. It’s designed by Jason Ferruggia and he has been featured on ESPN, Men’s Health and various other reputable TV shows and in magazines.

If you’re looking for a way to gain muscle and get ripped then The Renegade Diet is definitely something you should consider. It’s an easy to follow plan that’s designed by someone who really knows their stuff – there’s no fad here and it’s not the latest celebrity diet or program. It’s a proven and tested program which has been around for years – because it works.

We don’t hype up a lot of diet plans, but this one is solid. It’s straight forward and there’s no overly hyped nonsense here – it’s just pure and simple science that works to help you lose fat and gain muscle and work your way towards a ripped and lean body – check out the website today and see what you think.

This is How You Can Check Your Cholesterol Without Leaving Your House

By Jennifer | Staying Healthy

Do you get cold shivers or freak a bit when you think about going to see the doctor?

You are definitely not alone. A lot of people feel the same way. Whether its the loooooong waits in the lobby, or just the anxiety of it all, a visit to the doctor is just no fun.

The problem is, now that you’re a bit older, you need to keep on top of some important numbers for your health. One of the most important is your cholesterol.

So why is this test so important? The simple answer is because it can help you prevent heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular problems. It can let you know whether or not you need to make changes to your current lifestyle so that you can be healthier in YOUR future.

You Can Do Cholesterol Testing at Home

One of the reasons people give for not undergoing a cholesterol screening test is because of the inconvenience of having to go to the doctor or hospital to have it done. Today however, you can actually perform the test right in your own home, thanks to the handy cholesterol testing kits that are now available in pharmacies everywhere.

And if you don’t want to go the pharmacy? Amazon of course has them:

These home cholesterol test kits are not expensive either, so it won’t be a huge financial burden to get each member of your family checked once a year. They are also very easy to use, and you don’t need to have any medical background at all in order to perform the test. These test kits have been thoroughly tested and are quite reliable, providing highly accurate results.

Another way of doing the cholesterol test at home is to visit websites of pathology laboratories that take samples and send the results back to you. Basically, what you have to do is take some of your blood and put it in a sealed container that they provide and then mail the sample to them along with a stamped self-addressed envelope.

They will run the tests in their laboratory and send the detailed results back to you in a day or two. This method is convenient and not as time-consuming as a visit to the doctor.

Consequences of Inaction

Now that these handy testing methods are available, there is no longer any reason for you to put off cholesterol screening indefinitely. As you keep postponing your testing, your cholesterol levels may be rising beyond the healthy range and you may already be in serious trouble without even realizing it.

Ignoring a potential health problem will not make it go away and will probably lead to bigger problems in the future. Unfortunate consequences of our modern lifestyle for many people are the resultant lifestyle diseases such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Advancements in medical technology are making options such as these home test kits available to the greater community. So, if modern living is putting our health at risk, the least we can do is take advantage of this technology when it benefits us!

Home testing kits for cholesterol have actually been available since the early 1990s but it is only now that people are really starting to take advantage of this device to improve their health. Don’t be the last to try it — get tested now.

Once you have the results you can make informed decisions regarding your health and future. Don’t ignore possible problems. Accept responsibility for your own health and do what is necessary to maintain and hopefully improve it.

The Truth About the Paleo Diet for Beginners: Who it Works for and Why

By Jennifer | Try a Diet

It’s hard to keep up with all the different diets these days. Prior to 40 hitting the horizon, I never paid any attention. It was all background noise.

Then I needed to get rid of a few pounds. One of the first plans that caught my eye was the paleo diet. It caught my attention for the simple non scientific reason that I heard someone call it the “Caveman Diet.”

Well, turns out there’s more to it than that. The good news is that it’s still pretty simple. We’ll break it down for you here to give you an idea of how it works and whether its a good fit for you. Plus, we’ll point you in the right direction for some good resources.

What is the Paleo Diet? (The Simple Answer)

The paleolithic, or simply paleo diet – is a fairly popular diet which revolves around the concept of only eating foods that humans could’ve eaten in primal times, basically an all natural, no processed foods diet.

In a paleo diet, you can’t have any foods that prehistoric humans couldn’t have gotten. This means you can only have foods that are completely natural, either coming from animals or from plants and trees.

This diet has a lot of benefits to it. Since you’re cutting out processed and factory-made foods, you’re cutting out a ton of unhealthy foods from your diet. This alone will yield weight loss and health improvement results almost immediately.

Additionally, the lack of processed foods containing harmful ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup can lead to you having more energy and even an increased life span.

The paleo diet is supposedly how our bodies were meant to live, so we perform better on it. The meals you’ll eat on the paleo diet will leave you feeling more full, which helps prevent you from overeating, a major contributor to weight gain in the United States.

As long as you keep your portions controlled under this diet, you won’t be hungry, and you’ll be plenty satisfied. A paleo diet still allows you to have enough food options that you’ll never quite be bored of the meals, but is restrictive enough that you won’t be overwhelmed by options or be allowed to just go overboard.

No unhealthy food means you’re most likely going to lose weight, but just because a food is healthy doesn’t mean you can have as much of it as you want. For example, you can have just about as much broccoli as you’d like, which fits within the limits of the paleo diet.

However, if you were to eat an excessive amount of almonds, which is also allowed, you’d be taking in too many calories. One of the few drawbacks is that this diet can get to be a bit more pricey than a diet full of junk food.

Processed factory foods are often far cheaper than real natural foods, but there are a few ways around that if you know how to shop smart. However, the increased cost is worth it given the results.

The paleo diet can even help with inflammation pain, as naturally occurring foods like vegetables and fruits can help immensely with that. They contain all of the right nutrients to help your body fight disease, whereas the chemicals in factory foods can lead to increased risk of disease.

Is the Paleo Diet a Good Fit for You?

The paleo diet isn’t necessarily for everybody. For many people, it can be an effective way to lose weight and cleanse your system of overly processed foods and chemicals. However, given the restrictive nature of the diet, some groups of people may find it a bit too difficult.

For example, this diet isn’t particularly suited to vegetarians. The paleo diet involves a fair amount of meat, and if you don’t eat meat, you’re going to be left with fruits, vegetables, and nuts.

Vegetarians could normally have things like grains instead, but you can’t have that on a paleo diet. Another group that might be affected by the paleo diet is those who are active on a regular basis.

The paleo diet doesn’t really allow major sources of carbs like pasta, bread, or legumes, so if you require a lot of carbs for your exercise, you’ll find it pretty difficult to get the carbs you need.

That being said, the average non-active person will find the amount of carbs adequate for their daily needs. If you work an office job and don’t attend the gym regularly, then you won’t need as many carbs as someone with a physically demanding job who works out multiple times per week.

It might be a difficult diet for beginners, but not necessarily impossible. This diet cuts out a lot of things that we’re used to eating almost daily, like bread, chips, soda, and more. Some people aren’t really used to a diet without these common processed foods, but it’s not too hard to make the change.

If you don’t live near a place where you can easily get access to natural and organic foods like eggs, chicken, and vegetables, you might find the paleo diet to be a bit tough. It’s very easy to walk into your local Walmart and grab a bunch of processed food at a low price, but consider going to a nearby farmers market and getting more natural foods.

This diet can actually help people affected by diabetes – both type I and II. It can greatly lessen the effects of the condition, especially the obesity that accompanies type II. By cutting back on carbs and increasing the amount of fats, it actually helps your body fight back and increases insulin sensitivity.

If you’re planning on going paleo while pregnant, it’s best to wait until after you give birth to start this diet. According to various research, your baby could suffer from a variety of birth issues if you don’t get enough carbs in during pregnancy.

Given that the paleo diet is very low carb, this makes it unsafe for pregnant mothers. In general, though, the paleo diet is safe and helpful for a majority of people. If at any point during your paleo diet you start to experience signs of sickness, try stopping and trying out another diet.

“Coffee Heartburn” and Other Common Causes of Acid Reflux

By Jennifer | Acid Reflux

Coffee heartburn is real.

There are a few different ways to look at it, but the bottom line is that coffee can give you heartburn.

But don’t panic yet! Read on to see how you can keep coffee in your life without coffee heartburn.

“Coffee Heartburn” Causes

Coffee can cause heartburn in a few different ways.

First, coffee contains caffeine. Caffeine contributes to acid reflux by relaxing the barrier between your stomach and the esophagus. This allows more acid to make it up into your esophagus. This is what causes the feeling of heartburn.

Second, coffee is acidic. Since stomach acid causes heartburn, food and drink that is acidic is going to make the situation worse.

If you want to know how acidic, check out this coffee chemistry breakdown at

Does that mean you can’t drink coffee at all?

The Solution for Coffee Loving Heartburn Sufferers

You may be able to still drink coffee and steer clear of heartburn if you do an assessment of your coffee consumption.

You will want to evaluate two things: quantity and the type of coffee you are drinking.

Reduce Quantity, Reduce Coffee Heartburn

The first, quantity, might be the most important. Some people (like me!) drink a lot of coffee.

If you want to avoid cutting coffee completely out of your life, you’re going to have to cut back. Anyway, do you really enjoy your sixth cup of the day that much anyway?

Also look at drink sizes. It used to be that a “cup of coffee” meant 4-6 ounces. If you’re stopping at the coffee shop, you’re walking out with 12-24 ounces in a paper cup.

You just need to cut back. You might get headaches for awhile, but they will go away soon enough. The trade off for heartburn relief will be worth it!

Coffee Heartburn

Check the Roast and Variety of the Coffee

The second thing to do is to check the type of coffee you are drinking. There are dark roasts and light roasts.

Light roasts contain more caffeine than dark roasts. Since caffeine causes acid reflux, you are better off sticking to the darker roasts to keep heartburn away.

Also check the variety of the coffee bean. Some beans are less acidic than others.

The key will be finding the right mix for you. Maybe you can eliminate your heartburn by just cutting back, or maybe you will need to tweak both.

Coffee Heartburn and Acid Reflux

Heartburn Relief Basics

Coffee isn’t the only culprit in the heartburn puzzle. Remember, despite its name, heartburn is in no way related to any heart condition.

Heartburn is primarily a digestive condition where stomach acid comes in contact with the esophagus. When this happens, the acid will irritate the esophagus, causing you to feel a burning sensation that starts on your diaphragm and makes its way up to your chest.

It is also accompanied by a bitter or sour taste in your mouth, which is basically the stomach acid your body regurgitated. This is what you will feel when you experience heartburn.

In most cases, heartburn occurs a few hours after eating. The pain can last for many hours and this condition will make you feel as if food is stuck on your chest or your throat.

If not treated, heartburn can result to a more serious condition, such as scarring of the esophagus and on rare cases, it can even cause cancer of the esophagus.

Other Common Causes of Heartburn

So, what causes you to experience heartburn?

Primarily, diet is the main culprit for experiencing heartburn. Certain foods are notorious for causing heartburn. Included are fatty and fried food, garlic, mint, tomatoes, and chocolate. Spicy food is also notorious for causing heartburn.

In addition to coffee, beverages, such as orange juice. sodas and alcohol are known to cause heartburn. You really don’t have to give up drinking these things but you have to limit it or control it. You should also drink more water in order to neutralize stomach acid.

Also remember that some exercise routines can cause heartburn. Some exercises can reverse the flow of digestion, which will force stomach acid back in to the esophagus, which will cause heartburn.

These exercises include somersaults, forward rolls and other exercises that require you to be upside down.

If you experience heartburn during nighttime or when you are about to go to sleep, the most likely culprit would be your bed. Elevate your body position when you sleep with pillows in order to make gravity work for you by keeping stomach acid inside the stomach.

These are the common causes of heartburn. As you can see, there are ways on how you can prevent heartburn from happening or at least manage it effectively. It’s just a matter of making small lifestyle modifications, such as changing your diet and exercise routines.

Keep these things in mind and you can be sure that you will be able to prevent or at least reduce the frequency of heartburn.

If you experienced a bad case of heartburn before then you know how painful and uncomfortable this condition can be. In fact, it can be so painful that you may not be able to do any of your activities.

You have to know that there are several causes of heartburn. By knowing about the common causes of heartburn, you will be able to have an idea on how you can prevent it from happening to you or at least reduce its occurrence.

4 Completely Obvious Ways to Prevent Heartburn at Night

By Jennifer | Acid Reflux

You know the drill.

It’s bedtime but you can’t sleep because of heartburn. If you’ve been there you know it makes for a long, miserable night.

What can you do to stop this happening again and again? Some of the best advice in life is simple, so let’s start with 4 completely obvious, but amazingly helpful ways to prevent heartburn at night.

1. Avoid Large (to Huge) Meals at Dinner to Prevent Heartburn at Night

The first obvious tip is to avoid eating large meals for dinner. You have to remember that big meals mean that the stomach has to work harder to digest the food you eat.

This will also mean that the stomach will take a lot longer to digest what you eat. You stomach produces acid to digest this food. So the more food you eat, the more acid your stomach makes.

Prevent Heartburn at Night

People are more prone to experience heartburn during the night when they lie down. This is because when we lie down, it’s easier for the acid to reach our esophagus because gravity will no longer be of any help when we are lying down.

You don’t want all of this action in your stomach toward the end of the day.

2. Don’t Go to Bed on a Full Stomach

As much as it stinks getting hungry right before bed, you never want to eat a meal right before bedtime.

If you go to bed on a full stomach, your chances of nighttime heartburn increases. You need to allow your stomach at least 3 hours before you turn in.

Along those same lines, try to avoid laying down right after dinner. Stay upright to allow your body a change to digest.

Latin down allows more prolonged contact between the esophagus and the acid, which can easily lead to the deterioration of the esophagus lining, which will cause a more serious complication as mentioned below.

Alcohol Prevent Heartburn at Night

3. Avoid Drinking Alcohol Late at Night to Prevent Heartburn

As much as you might think a few drinks will help you fall asleep, the trade off is more heartburn in the middle of the night.

Avoid drinking alcohol late at night as this increases acid production in your stomach and it also relaxes your LES or lower esophageal sphincter. The LES is responsible for keeping stomach acid inside your stomach and if it relaxes, it will open up and allow acid to come in contact with your esophagus.Nighttime heartburn

4. Antacids and Water

Water is good for just about everything.
Drinking plenty of water can help neutralize the acid in your stomach.

You may also want to have a supply of antacids ready in case you experience heartburn during the night.

Heartburn: Nuisance or Chronic Condition

If you experienced heartburn before, then you know that it is unpleasant, painful and in most cases, distressing. You have to know that millions of people from different parts of the world suffer from heartburn and it is also a very old condition that humans suffer from.

If you suffer from heartburn on a regular basis, you may need to treat it in order to prevent heartburn attacks or at least lessen its frequency.

Although mild heartburn is more of a nuisance than a real condition, chronic or severe heartburn can be something much more serious. Chronic heartburn will not only prevent you from living a normal life, but it can also be very dangerous to your overall health.

Heartburn Can Damage the Esophagus

It’s important to know that when acid reflux or heartburn occurs, your esophagus will get damaged.

Occasional or mild cases of heartburn will let the lining in your esophagus to recover and no long term damage will be done. But, if you experience heartburn on a regular basis, you may need to take this more seriously as repeated heartburn attacks will prevent your esophagus lining from recovering and cause serious damage to it.

In extreme cases, it may lead to the scarring of the esophagus. You may also develop Barrett’s esophagus, where you will be at risk of getting esophageal cancer. This is mainly the reason why you may want to prevent heartburn especially during nighttime when you are going to bed.

A Lasting Solution

These four tips are some of the more obvious steps you can take to prevent heartburn at night.

If you are still having trouble or are looking for a more complete solution that doesn’t involve drugs, check out this video on Heartburn No More.

Do You Recognize These 4 Acid Reflux Symptoms?

By Jennifer | Acid Reflux

4 Familiar Acid Reflux  Symptoms in Adults

Having regular heartburn is miserable. Even worse is worrying that you might be have acid reflux or GERD. In this post we’ll cover how acid reflux is diagnosed and the 4 most common acid reflux symptoms in adults.

How is Acid Reflux Diagnosed?

Just because you have heartburn doesn’t mean you have acid reflux.

So when does occasional heartburn become acid reflux?

That answer usually comes from a medical professional. Many times the diagnoses can be made by talking with your doctor or by using a typical acid reflux symptoms questionnaire.

Either way, a diagnosis is necessary to ensure the most effective and quick treatment for this condition.

Approximately 70% of the acid reflux diagnostics that are based on the presence of typical symptoms are accurate.

Since acid reflux, also called GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), can cause patients a great deal of discomfort and result in severe complications, it is highly important to know how to identify its symptoms in order to quickly diagnose and treat it.Acid Reflux Symptoms signs

4 Most Common Acid Reflux Symptoms in Adults

While these are not the only signs, the 4 most common symptoms of GERD and acid reflux are:

1. Persistent Heartburn. This is the most common symptom of GERD. Heartburn is experienced as an unpleasant and painful burning sensation in the esophageal area.

2. Gastric regurgitation, which means an unrestricted reversed flow of gastric or esophageal contents into the throat. This gastric fluid can cause respiratory complications under certain conditions.

3. Odynophagia, which means pain when swallowing.

4. Dysphagia, which means difficulty swallowing, or the feeling of food stuck in the throat.

In addition to the above, about 50% of all gastroesophageal reflux disease sufferers report the co-occurrence of sinonasal symptoms (i. e. symptoms pertaining to the nose and sinuses).

Less Common Symptoms of Acid Reflux

Abnormal GERD symptoms include chronic wheezing and coughing (sometimes referred to as acid reflux related asthma, and are caused by the aspiration of gastric contents into the lungs area), spasmodic noncardiac chest pain and damage to the lungs, often followed by respiratory diseases such as pneumonia and asthma.

Intense chest pain may closely resemble that of myocardial infarction that it has often been incorrectly interpreted as a heart attack. However, unlike the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, cardiovascular chest pain is usually aggravated during physical exercise.

Finally, acid reflux can also harm the vocal cords (hoarseness, laryngitis, cancer), ears (otitis media), and teeth (enamel decay). Being able to identify those symptoms as GERD related is of great importance to your health and general well being and for the prevention of potential complications.

Acid reflux symptoms might serve as evidence to severe overall internal imbalance. In addition to that, neglected gastroesophageal reflux disease can lead to significant physical discomfort and sometimes can results in chronic and even dangerous health conditions, such as esophageal cancer and pneumonia.

Heartburn No More Review: All Natural Acid Reflux Relief

By Jennifer | Acid Reflux

Heartburn No More Review

As I was getting ready to do this Heartburn No More review, the problem hit me.

You want heartburn relief but you don’t want to take a bunch of pills and you definitely don’t want surgery. Not possible?

The more I read, the more I became convinced.

Read about my search for the best natural remedies for acid reflux in adults here.

Heartburn no more reviewI was suffering from a lot of heartburn and I had a feeling that the over the counter pills I was taking were not a good long term solution. I set out to find a better answer. I found a way that not only took care of my acid reflux, but left me feeling better overall. This may not work for everyone, but here’s what I found:

What is Acid Reflux?

Acid reflux, or gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), is usually experienced as frequent heartburn. Frequent being at least two times a week.

Heartburn is the burning sensation in the chest or throat that is caused by refluxed stomach contents touching the lining of the esophagus. Occasional heartburn is normal for healthy people. If it is frequent, it can lead to a lot of discomfort in your daily life.

Heartburn No More Review

Not only is acid reflux uncomfortable, it can also lead to more serious health complications like stricture formation, bleeding, ulcers and esophageal spasms.

Treatments for Acid Reflux

Acid reflux and GERD treatment can take three main forms: surgery, medical therapy and holistic therapy. It’s always good to avoid surgery if at all possible and medications can treat some of the discomfort, but don’t always lead to a sustainable, long-term solution. The other problem with medication is that there are always possible side effects associated with most medications.

Since acid reflux is considered a warning sign of imbalance, alternative remedies, including lifestyle changes are strongly recommended for acid reflux sufferers.

Where to Find the Best Natural Remedies for Acid Reflux in Adults

I did a lot of searching for natural remedies for acid reflux. In the process I learned a lot about it and GERD. I don’t have any medical training, but I stumbled on a natural solution that caught my attention.

Not only did it catch my attention, it ended up being the plan that really worked for me. The book was called Heartburn No More by Jeff Martin. It ended up being the most comprehensive and complete guides to acid reflux relief that I read. To this day, I haven’t found anything close.

Heartburn No More Review

Heartburn No More isn’t perfect, but it is the real deal. A lot of people call it the “Acid Reflux Bible.” It was written by Jeff Martin, a certified nutritionist, health consultant and author.

If you have been researching acid reflux, heartburn and GERD like I have, you know there is a ton of stuff out there. Most of it not that great. Heartburn No More is different.

How is it different? This guide doesn’t just give you temporary relief from heartburn, it gives you a long-term acid reflux solution.

In the beginning chapters, the book explains that heartburn relief is the wrong goal. He shows you why you need to fix the internal problem that is causing your heartburn. The best part is, he goes on to show you how to do it in a clear, concise, and precise manner.

Step by Step Guide to Acid Reflux Relief

What really sets the book apart is the attention to detail on the step by step guide. The end goal of this process is to achieve permanent freedom from acid reflux symptoms. It is by far the most detailed book on the subject that I have ever read.

This level of detail may be a negative for some. There is a lot of information packed into the 150 pages of content. But if you are like me, you will be willing to read a little to learn how to get long term relief,

The basis of the step by step guide is the 5 step core formula section. Martin gives a detailed overview of each step and then clearly explains in more detail.

The other drawback for some is that it is not a “quick fix” or miracle potion. You need to read the book and understand the plan. It’s not hard reading. It is easy to understand and clearly presented, but you do need to read it.

Who is Heartburn No More For?

This ebook is really for anyone who wants to address their acid reflux and regain their natural inner balance. It is a total health program and in my opinion, is better than most of the basic nutrition books out there.

Apparently I’m not the only fan, as the book has had phenomenal sales and many success stories. You can check out the testimonials and watch a video on the author’s website. I’ve provided a link at the end of this review.

If you are looking for pills or a magic cure for your acid reflux, you will need waste your money someplace else. If you are looking for real solutions for acid reflux and a design for healthy living, I would highly recommend this book.

If you are ready to take on your acid reflux, this will be one of the best investments you can make in your life. . . literally! Individual results may vary, find out if this plan is good for you. Click here to learn more about Heartburn No More.

5 Surprising Myths About Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment

5 Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment Myths Busted

I think we can agree researching peripheral neuropathy treatment an be discouraging and overwhelming.

There’s a lot of information out there and most of it is negative.

But, there is hope.

I found this doctor’s letter that debunks 5 of the most common false “facts” about peripheral neuropathy treatment.

It comes from Dr. Randall C. Labrum, a Neuropathy Expert.

Not only is he a doctor, he is a former  Neuropathy Sufferer. He wrote the book Peripheral Neuropathy: The Mystery Unlocked.

5 Myths of Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment

In his letter, Dr. Labrum discredits the myths surrounding the treatment of this condition.

This is really good stuff, so I won’t summarize. I am going to give you the full version. So without further ado:

Here is the full text of Dr. Labrum’s letter on peripheral neuropathy treatment:

As I go from place to place giving lectures, classes and seminars on the subject of Peripheral Neuropathy, an unfortunate situation continues to cause me great concern.

Without exception, my seminar attendees think and believe that their condition of neuropathy has no cure.

The medical community is largely responsible for this misinformation being passed on to the suffering patient.

Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment

In my view it is the job and responsibility of the family doctor to teach the patient about their neuropathy problem.

It is also the doctor’s job to train the patient in what they can do to improve and manage their neuropathy case successfully.

Given the misconceptions of my seminar attendees however, this teaching and training obviously isn’t being done.

That this discouraging situation be allowed to continue year after year, in a world where medicine has otherwise come to offer so many outstanding solutions and even “miracles”, is a real shame.

Many neuropathy patients, suffering with foot or hand pain, tingling, numbness, burning, and other evasive and hard to describe neuropathy symptoms, don’t even know the name of their condition!

And while others do, that is essentially all they know.

With this in mind I want to address some of the most commonly INCORRECT “facts” that suffering neuropathy patients have been told, or come to understand, due to the lack of patient education by the medical community.

1. Neuropathy comes with age, and there is nothing you can do about it.

This statement is only partially correct, inasmuch as aging can contribute to the increased onset and intensity of the neuropathy condition.

There are however, many simple techniques and procedures that any person can learn which will offset many of these effects of aging as they relate to peripheral neuropathy.

Peripheral Neuropathy

One example of the many easy things that can be done is to simply recline on the sofa for a fifteen minute nap with the feet propped up on the back of the sofa above the level of the body.

This simple “exercise” allows stagnated, toxin laden blood in the feet and lower legs to move more rapidly back to the heart and lungs with the assistance of gravity, where it will be oxygenated and cleansed.

2. We do not know what causes neuropathy.

This is absolutely incorrect!

Most causes of neuropathy are indeed known and not difficult to understand.

Cancer patients being treated with chemotherapy, for example, are at very high risk for developing neuropathy.

The poisonous effects of the powerful cancer killing drugs are known to damage the sensory nerves in the feet, hands and other peripheral areas.

Diabetes is an obvious and well-known catalyst for peripheral neuropathy as well.

A lesser known example is the sudden reduction of blood pressure due to anti-hypertensive prescriptions, which is nonetheless perhaps one of neuropathy’s leading causes.

Since neither surgery nor prescription drugs are effective at “curing” peripheral neuropathy, most physicians are not willing to take the time to educate and manage these types of cases.

Instead, they simply tell the patient that there is no known cause or cure, and that the best that can be offered are powerful, painkilling drugs. This is truly an unfortunate and incorrect approach to a very treatable condition.

3. There are no treatment procedures for neuropathy.

In reality the best treatment procedures for peripheral neuropathy do not need to be administered by a doctor.

Therefore the doctor is neither motivated to learn them nor teach to the patient.

Experience has proven that most family doctors are not even aware of these methods and are not motivated to get involved with this type of patient management. It is too time intensive and not worthwhile financially.

Patients must therefore assume the responsibility of learning and implementing the methods of self-treatment.

I have created a simple step-by-step program that will teach you these methods which you can get at this link.

This is actually a good and positive thing!

Significant amounts of money will be saved by the patient taking over their own case and not paying the high professional fees.

By reducing these costs, most any person is able to correct their neuropathy problem without the financial burdens that prevent many individuals from getting the care which they otherwise need and deserve.

4. Neuropathy just gets worse with time, and you have to accept that you are “stuck” with it.

This statement is only true if the neuropathy patient ignores their condition and takes no remedial action.

If corrective, self-treatment procedures are implemented by the patient, the miserable symptoms of neuropathy can be greatly improved.

Instead of the condition worsening and an individual finding himself “stuck” with it, life gets much better as the pain, numbness, and tingling sensations get better and normal life returns.

This is made possible as the sufferer begins taking easy and proven steps which I reveal in my neuropathy program [Link] for improving the circulation in the legs and feet.

5. Since you are diabetic, there is no help available for you.

This very incorrect but common statement is so unfortunate and untrue.

Although the condition of diabetes does indeed complicate the condition of neuropathy, it does not eliminate the diabetic patient from significant help with their neuropathy condition.

Most persons with severe diabetic neuropathy would be very satisfied with 30-70% improvement of their condition.

Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment Remedies

This is what we have experienced by teaching diabetic individuals how to increase circulation and regenerate the health of their sensory nerves in the legs, feet, and hands.

In terms of all of the misconceptions I’ve just addressed, it is ultimately the responsibility of the neuropathy sufferer to prove them incorrect for himself, by acquiring the information and education necessary to start the healing process on his own.

A doctor likely won’t hold your hand through this process, nor even point you in the right general direction. Unfortunately, that’s just not the way the system as it is set up today works.
